Wildcard Soft Hackle - Fly Tying Tutorial

In this fly tying tutorial, we take a look at Matt's Wildcard. This modern-styled soft hackle is great for tempting trout before the hatches get started or when you just want to prospect through good looking water.

This pattern fishes best on a downstream & across swing presentation. I like to use a Scientific Anglers Sonar leader to help get this fly down to the fish. Using a fly without extra weight allows me to fish close to the wood where fish like to hide. Be sure to let the fly dangle at the end of your drift!
