Mini Sparkle Minnow Jig Tutorial

Jig streamers have become very popular lately as a great way to get flies down quickly to holding fish and minimize snags. This is Matt's version of a mini sparkle minnow - great for when flows are low and clear.

MATERIALS LIST

• MFC 60 Degree Jig Hook
• Bead: 4.5mm Slotted Tungsten Bead 
• Wire: Lead or Lead-Free Wire
• Thread: Veevus 6/0 Thread
• Tail: Micro Pulsator Strip
• Body: Arizona Simi Seal
• Collar: Barred Mallard Flank
• Head: Ripple Ice Dub
• Eyes: Oval Pupil Eyes

TOOLS USED

• Vise: Renzetti Traveler
• Scissors: Dr. Slick Tungsten Carbide
• Bobbin: Dr. Slick Ceramic
• Superglue: Zap Gel
• UV Adhesive: Solarez Thin
• UV Light: Loon Infinity

FISHING NOTES

This fly can be fished on a floating or sinking line depending on your water conditions. Lately, I've been fishing it with a floating line and 7.5' 2X leader. This allows for a stealthy presentation that really allows this fly to work the jigging motion. Experiment! Bend the rules! Have fun, and get out there.
