Kevin Feenstra's Flash Mob
Season Three, Round Two of Live Fly Tying featured our friend Kevin Feenstra who surprised us by sharing five great patterns that should be in your box. His Flash Mob takes on a classic steelhead fly form and reminds us of great flies like Scott Howell's Prom Dress.
MATERIALS LIST
- Shank: 55mm Up Eye or Senyo's 40mm Steelhead Shanks
- Loop: 60-80lb braid or Senyo's Intruder Wire
- Hook: Daiichi Tube Fly Hook, or Gamakatsu Octopus
- Eyes: 6mm Bead Chain (silver, orange or chartreuse)
- Tail: Three strands of Mirage Fringe Flashabou
- Tag: Orange, pink, chartreuse ice dub clumps covered in UV Blue Ripple Ice Fiber
- Flashes: Copper Flashabou, Rainbow Flashabou, Chartreuse Fire Tye
- Over Flash: Gold lateral scale & Saltwater Blue Flashabou
- Thorax: Black or Dark Peacock Ice Dub
- Hackle: Black Schlappen
