Potter's Opal Drake Tutorial

This week we're tying the Dennis Potter's Opal Drake. This is one of our favorite spring attractor flies that works great any time ISOs are around. This is a quick tie that uses some materials you might already have at home. 

Materials

  • Hook: TMC 100
  • Thread: UNI 6/0
  • Tail: Moose Body
  • Body: Opal Tinsel or Flashabou
  • Post: Para Post
  • Thorax: Superfine Dubbing Rusty Brown
  • Hackle: Brown Saddle or Cape Hackle
