SALMON/STEELHEAD

Not much has changed in the way of salmon ans steelhead in our Northern Michigan rivers. Waves of fish continue to come in to The Bestie, Platte, Manistee, and Boardman with our cooling weather. As always look for rain to bring in fresh fish to most systems. We’ve been catching a good mix of Kings and Coho with a few Steelhead mixed in too. Nymphs ans eggs are working but look for the egg bite to turn on heavy soon with fish headed toward gravel. Try some streamers or even surface flies for Coho to mix things up!

TROUT

Trout fishing has been a little slower than expected but the streamer bite should continue to pick up with this cooling trend. Mix up colors and retrieve rates to see what the fish are after. Make sure you fit a day or two in on your favorite streams before the season comes to an end!
