Fishing Report 8/26/20

If you're here looking for information regarding the fall Salmon run, it's still a little early. Fish are staging off of the Betsie and Manistee but we're going to need some rain to start seeing fish push upstream. Kings are also starting to stage off of the Boardman in West Grand Traverse Bay but not in large numbers. This isn't uncommon, the Boardman usually gets it's fish last in the Northwest corner of Michigan. If you are lucky enough to find some rogue fish that have started to work upstream, make sure you're rigged up right!

  • Large arbor reel
  • Mono or floating line
  • 15-25LB leaders

Trout fishing hasn't been quite as easy the past few weeks with the warm and bright days we've been having. Choosing the right time of day to be on the water has been the key. Mornings continue to be the first choice of most successful anglers. Once the sun really hits the water we've been going to droppers to catch more fish or switching to nymphing.
