Fishing Report 1/27/19
It's cold out folks, seriously cold. We're not here to sugar coat things for you so I'll tell you right away that none of our guides, staff, or friends have been out fishing the rivers lately. We've gotten numerous reports lately that both The Betsie and Upper Manistee have frozen over in sections, seriously limiting options if you've got a itch to get out there.
Ice might be your best chance to get into some fish for a while looking at the forecast. If you've never tried it, it won't be difficult to find someone willing to share some info. Ice fishing is as much about fishing as it is spending some time outside with friends. It may test your limits being crowded into a shanty but you're likely to come away feeling good about getting out of the house.
This is also a great time to spend some time at the vise. We have tying events and classes happening all winter long. Check out a class here or come to one of our Flies at The Franklin and see guides and notable tyers share their favorite flies.
