Get started fly fishing with The Northern Angler

These classes are a full-day introduction to everything you need to get started in fly fishing. The course runs roughly from 8:00am to 4:00pm and is open to everyone ages 16 and up. Class sizes are small to ensure personalized direction and support from experienced instructors.

Topics we'll cover include: equipment, various casts and their applications, ethics and etiquette, fish behavior, and knots, among other topics. Additionally, and most excitingly, you'll have the opportunity to practice and apply what you've learned on the water while fishing with a guide for bass and bluegill on a local lake.

**If you have a group, we would be happy to put together a private class for you on a different date. This option is perfect for a group of friends, corporate retreats, team building, and families.

Currently we are only offering shipping within the United States, rates are as follows:

Flies Only = $5.00 Ground

Under $50 = $7.95 Ground

Over $50 = Free Ground Shipping

All orders will be shipped Standard Ground or Priority. Express shipping is available for an extra charge. Simply request express shipping by leaving a note when you check out and we will contact you with a quote.
