A fun caddis nymph that can be effective for Steelhead, Trout, and more! We really like this pattern for stained water or when you need to show fish something a little different. It's not difficult to tie and will stand out in your box.

FISHING NOTES:

This is a great pattern when you are ready to mix things up. Fish can get used to seeing the same patterns in high traffic areas. We like fishing this on an indicator rig or bottom bouncing setup in the fall, winter, and spring. Typically we stick with the chartreuse green color mop chenille but if you're fishing clear water, you may want to try the cream color.

You can easily adapt this fly to a tight-line setup by adding a tungsten bead at the head but I usually don't use it as an anchor pattern. The Mop Chenille creates plenty of drag in the water preventing fast sink-rates.
