Fishing Report 8/29/18
In the last three days, we have seen three thunderstorms bring heavy rains to the area. Some areas have received damaging winds and even hail in addition to several inches of rain. Rivers will be running high for the next few days so we ask that everyone uses caution wading or floating.
Trout
With this high water, streamer junkies should be hitting the rivers hard with big, visible patterns featuring orange, yellow, black, and chartreuse. Look for fishing to take off as the water levels come down and visibility improves. Those still looking to enjoy dry fly fishing shouldn't worry, we still have plenty of time to find rising fish. Get your Chernobyl and skunk hoppers ready to rock and hit those banks hard!
Salmon/Steelhead
We've finally had a good three day rain to bring our dry rivers back into shape for the big fish. Fishing may be tough the next few days as the waters levels recede but kings will certainly be moving into all major systems. Be ready to fish with egg patterns and beads in bright colors oranges, reds, chartreuse. Nymphs such as Stoneflies, Pheasant tails, and Caddis are always reliable and good to have on hand.
