Cheese Cup

THIRD ANNUAL CHEESE CUP 

WHEN:

 The third annual Cheese Cup will be Saturday, June 8th 2019

WHAT:

Anglers compete individually or as part of a team in a one day catch and release tournament across Northern Michigan fly fishing for Carp, Bass, Bluegill and Pike.

WHY:

Raise money for suicide prevention and Northern Michigan's Third Level Crisis Center. In 2017 The Northern Angler lost a dear friend and former employee to suicide. Alex was known as "cheese" at the shop and now this tournament bears the same name in his memory. 

How:

Largest (length) fish in each category wins. Anglers may also compete for the GRAND SLAM by catching one fish from each of the four categories.

    Rules:

    1. This is a catch & release fly fishing tournament
    2. All fish must be taken on fly tackle
    3. Fish wherever you like as long as you have legal access
    4. Wading, Kayaks, and boats are all welcome
    5. Fish to be scored will need to be photographed 
    6. Photographs without provided tape measure will not be scored

    Awards:

    Winning teams will receive awards but know that they will be goofy! The whole point of this tournament is to raise money, raise awareness, and have fun. We will also have some killer door prizes thanks to our wonderful sponsors.
