a socially distant
2020 Cheese Cup
Saturday, June 6th

Honoring a Friend
This event bears the nickname of our dear friend and former employee Alex Hawke who earned the nickname "cheese" his first summer in the shop. After losing Alex in 2017, our employees, guides, and close friends wanted to do something to help bring depression and suicide out from the shadows.
Fishing with a cause
We turned a small annual carp tournament into a more inclusive warm-water fundraising tournament where anglers chase Bass, Bluegill, Pike, and Carp. Partnering with Child & Family Services of Northern Michigan has helped us focus our efforts towards helping others in the area who may struggle with depression and thoughts of suicide.

A success story
We never saw it coming but with the support of our customers, sponsors, friends, and family this even has grown leaps and bounds. Amazingly, we've been able to donate over $30,000 towards suicide prevention programs in just a few short years.
This Year's Tournament
Format
We'll again be chasing the largest bass, bluegill, pike and carp in a one-day catch and release tournament. Teams can also compete in the grand slam and super slam categories.
Teams
Teams will be made up of 1-2 anglers and can fish anywhere in the state of Michigan. To follow social distancing guidelines there will be no mandatory morning meeting and anglers can hit the water at 6:00am.

Awards Ceremony
To follow social distancing guidelines, we'll be holding the awards ceremony live on facebook and instagram. We hope to be able to host you all again at the shop soon!
