We've had an unbelievable weekend with great weather a good fishing but looking ahead you might want to pack your rain gear if you're headed to Northern Michigan. Besides Tuesday, the forecast is calling for rain every day this week. Wednesday and Saturday look to have the heaviest precipitation but that shouldn't keep you off the water. Remember, fish have to eat!
Tricos continue to dominate the early mornings on our Northern Michigan rivers so be sure to have at the very least a few small parachute adams with you for when the fish get picky. Although the fish that will concentrate on Tricos are not always the largest, targeting selective rising fish is one of the most fun and rewarding thing this sport has to offer.
August is here and although we are past Northern Michigan's major hatches there is still some great trout fishing to enjoy before Salmon and Steelhead start to show up in our rivers. Early mornings are producing Tricos, small mayflies that can frustrate but will bring fish up for a surface eat.
